Luis learned to appreciate fashion and beauty from an early age in his naitive El Salvador. The son of a diplomat and elegant socialite, he gained exposure to a wide range of glamorous people. Moving to Paris, he sought a role in the fashion world and eventually became a hair and makeup artist.

Since then, Luis has lived in both New York City and Los Angeles, and has worked with major cosmetic companies, A-list celebrities, and the industry's most prominent models. He is recognized as an expert in hair and makeup techniques and has made guest appearances on Good Morning America, MTV, CNN, and The Tyra Banks Show. Luis writes a column for Cosmopolitan en Espanol, and his editorial work is routinely featured in leading fashion magazines.
