A GLIMPSE INTO MY CREATIVE PROCESS:

When I see someone I naturally compute very quickly – I’m not looking specifically at their hair and makeup but I’m taking in information about them as a whole. Upon meeting someone I am looking at the planes of their face, their hair texture and all the possibilities, products and combinations swirl in my mind as a part of the creative process. I also listen carefully to what the direction is from the client to make sure I’m on exactly the same page with the results.

BEST IMPULSIVE DECISION:

When I graduated college at the U of Oregon, I got an internship for the summer in Normandy to help restore a chateau. I ended up staying in Paris for a year and then moved to NYC with a friend I met there. I learned how taking chances and making bold decisions can truly change your life’s trajectory and it can be the most rewarding and exciting pivot!

PROJECTS I FIND EXCITING:

I truly love educating about beauty and when I was the Lead Master Artist at Chanel – I hosted member experiences and taught women (and men) about skincare and makeup. I truly enjoy helping people reach their ah-ha moments with makeup and skincare and open their eyes to things they didn’t know before.

BORN AND RAISED:

I grew up in a lovely college town in Iowa where the University of Iowa is located. It’s a Midwestern oasis that’s wonderful to raise children. My grandparents and Mother were professors and intellectuals so they were a part of a very eclectic community and I was surrounded by artists my whole life.We also travelled often which opened by eyes to the world but to this day I feel rooted in the culture of my upbringing.
