Molly Turner

BORN AND RAISED:

I grew up in Cypress, Texas, a suburb outside Houston where family, Gulf Coast storms, and cheese enchiladas shaped a lot of who I am. A short move to Phoenix when I was young taught me to love the smell of creosote bushes in the desert after a rainstorm.

WHEN I’M NOT WORKING:

Ceramics, hosting, and making things beautiful – those are my reset buttons. I love slow mornings with coffee and a good Bible study, shaping clay at the wheel, or cuddling up with my Pomeranian, Sushi. I’m always chasing cozy beauty and mood, and I love a (thin) glass of red wine by the fire with friends.

MY CREATIVE PROCESS:

I always start with the senses: light, scent, music. I build a mood before I build anything else. I once designed a mezcal tasting for Día de los Muertos; everything from the marigolds to the Palo Santo smoke to the shadows from the candlelight played a role. One mezcal even tasted like a desert rainstorm: smoky, earthy, alive. That kind of layered storytelling, where visuals evoke memory, is what I love most.

BEST IMPULSIVE DECISION:

I quit a stable corporate job without a clear plan, just a pull toward creativity, beauty, and making things by hand. It took years to gather the courage, but it led me back to the version of myself I was as a child: playful, observant, and always noticing the details.
