Rosie Medrano – HMU

WHEN I’M NOT WORKING:

Outside of work, I’m all about fun and good vibes! I love concerts and cheering on baseball and hockey games, plus at-home karaoke. I’m also a big fan of museums, traveling to national parks, and I love crafts and board games. Of course, I always make time for family, home, and my fur babies!

PROJECTS I FIND EXCITING:

Anything tied to a specific time period, is what I find most exciting. I love the research behind the hair and makeup of the past—the history, the details, the stories. When I’m asked to day play on period films or shows for hair or makeup, like 1883 and 1923, I’m over the moon! While visiting museums, I constantly find myself examining the Roman statues because there is so much detail in the hair even though it’s stone. It’s magnificent!

ARTISTS WHO INSPIRE ME:

The artist who’s had the biggest impact on me is my cousin, Rey Medrano. He’s a makeup artist who works on many big projects in the Taylor Sheridan world, and he really helped me get my foot in the door. He shared tips and tricks about on-set etiquette, and helped me feel confident about putting my kit to use on my very first TV set. That was years ago, and my career has just kept growing since. I’ll always be grateful.
