OUTSIDE OF WORK:

I immerse myself in dance, both in classes and in clubs, and I love to spend time with friends watching weird B-movies and playing board games. I also immerse myself in hot water; I have planned entire trips all for the sake of visiting some far-flung hot spring.

MY CREATIVE PROCESS:

My creative process is fluid and constant. Whether I’m in my studio or out and about, the gears are always turning, taking voice notes while driving, texting myself ideas for songs or installations, sketching outfits in my head while I’m trying to sleep. But my favorite part of the process is the moment of collaboration, when you bring your jumble of disjointed thoughts together and start building with your team. I thrive in a group of people who really trust each other, coming together humbly in service of the art.

ARTISTS WHO INSPIRE ME:

Pedro Almodovar, Miranda July, Andrei Tarkovsky, Solange Knowles, Julio Torres. I am enthralled by artists who can build entire worlds that feel both alien and inviting, totally strange yet deeply relatable.

PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW:

I can do a pretty convincing New Zealand accent!
